Thomas Allan Francis' Obituary
Thomas Allan Francis, 79, of Big Rapids, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. Born on February 25, 1946, in Ada, Michigan, Thomas was the son of William and Mary (Passmore) Francis.
Thomas spent his working years dedicated to the trades, employed with a subsurface utility company and later retiring from the Laborers Union Local 1098. He was proud of his work and of the many strong relationships he built over the years within the labor community.
A true outdoorsman, Thomas found his greatest joy in deer hunting, exploring nature, and simply being outside. He had a fun-loving personality and a warm, easygoing spirit that made time spent with him meaningful and memorable. Above all, Thomas cherished moments shared with his family.
He is survived by his brother, James (Jerry) Francis; his nephew, Jon Francis; and many more nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Funeral services, arranged by his nephew Jon, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Big Rapids. Family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Thomas will be laid to rest at the Woodville cemetery.
