Robert Maurice Anger's Obituary
Robert M. Anger, “Bob,” died April 12th, 2025, surrounded by small engines, gardening supplies, and numerous unfinished projects that he'll “get to later.” Born on May 31st, 1947, Bob was just shy of turning 78 this year.
Bob is survived by his two kids, Brett Anger and Jackie (Dan) Anger-Pipe, four grandkids, Rowan Pipe, Thea Anger-Pipe, Edric Anger-Pipe, Astrid Anger-Pipe, and one great grandson, Ambrose Morris. He is also survived by his two remaining siblings Larry (Kelly) Anger, and Pete Anger, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Bob attended both Ferris State University and Western Michigan University, graduating with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering with a minor in chemistry. Bob was drafted in the Vietnam War and served in the US Army, kicking and screaming the entire time.
He married Laura Anger (Thorstenson) In 1982. They moved around the US as Bob worked through different engineering projects. In 1992 Bob and Laura divorced but remained on good terms. Bob then lived in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan and worked for Soaring Eagle Casino. He moved back to Big Rapids and retired in 2007.
Bob enjoyed tinkering, especially repairing small engines. He also enjoyed gardening, camping, traveling, and yelling at anyone who would listen to him. Many in town knew him as “Angry Bob.”
A celebration of life will be held on May 3rd in Big Rapids. More details will be released by his family as the date approaches.
