Olive May Eaton's Obituary
Big Rapids- Olive May Eaton, 90,of Big Rapids went home to be with her Lord on Friday, October 14, 2011. She was born on April 6, 1921 in Grant Township, the daughter of Emmet and Edna (Erbes) Pratt. Olive grew up in Grant Township, attending school there and in Big Rapids. She worked as a lab technician at the Mecosta County Medical Center from 1970 until retiring in 1986. Olive served as a volunteer for RSVP for many years. Upon retirement, she enjoyed many winters in Zephyrhills, Florida. Olive is survived by three daughters, Cinda (Richard) Reed of Big Rapids, Charlotte Myers of Paris, Coleen Hamman of Grand Rapids, four grandchildren, Dennis (Kandi) Myers of Big Rapids, Lisa (Orthell) Adams of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Mark (Leslie) Myers of Big Rapids,; Melissa (Richard) Reed-Colburn of Chicago, Illinois; nine great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, many nieces and nephews plus special friend Ralph Grennell and family. Olive was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold Eaton in 1974, six brothers and sisters and son-in-law Earl Hamman. Her family extends special thanks to the staff at Evergreen Terrace who provided loving care to their mother and many thanks to Heartland Hospice. Funeral services for Olive will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the Mohnke Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
