Nicole Renee Chipman's Obituary
Nicole Renee Chipman, age 43, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 26, 2025. She was born in Laurium, Michigan, on March 31, 1982, the daughter of Timothy Chipman and Linda (Oysti) Chipman.
Nicole devoted many years to hospitality at the Holiday Inn where her kindness and gentle spirit brightened the lives of coworkers and guests. A free spirit and nature lover, she found beauty and meaning in the world. Spiritually curious, Nicole found joy in astrology and cherished crystals for their beauty and believed energies. She also enjoyed reading tarot cards and helping others connect spiritually.
Nicole was deeply compassionate. Children, animals, and people alike were drawn to her warmth and generosity. She had a tender heart, always thinking of others before herself—even expressing care and concern for the nurses who cared for her. She was advocate for those who didn’t have a voice and a freedom fighter.
Nicole loved art and was a talented artist herself. She enjoyed music festivals and attending concerts - especially Prof! She loved the theater and had a deep appreciation for good food and cooking. She lived spontaneously, creatively, and with empathy for all.
Her nieces and nephews were the light of her life, and she poured her heart into them. She loved to take them to Sticky Fingers and museums and taught them to be an advocate for others. Alaska held a special place in her soul—she loved her time living in Anchorage and Willow and often spoke of its wild, peaceful beauty.
One of her sister’s favorite sayings about Nicole was that she was “simply too good for this world that was why she got glimpses of the others.”
Nicole is survived by her father, Timothy (Laura) Chipman; her mother, Linda Chipman; brothers Ben (Daniella) Chipman and Harry Chipman; sisters Rachel Chipman, Jessi Ems, and Justine Chipman (Daniel Ottobre); grandparents Ken and June Chipman; beloved nieces and nephews: Isiah, Emma, Landen, Maya, Myles, Sawyer, Noah, Mercy, Deeken, Olive, Moses, Lukas, and Addy; aunt Lisa (Ed) Marcotte; and cousin Siranda (Ted) Patchel.
