Dear Susan and all the Helms Family,
John, Megan and I were so very sorry to hear of Max’s passing. You are in
our thoughts and prayers.
We are so thankful to have been able to spend time with Max the last few
summers as well a quick visit in Florida this past February. We will always
remember Max’s joyful smile and contagious laugh. Being with his family
was clearly a great joy to him. Max’s welcoming nature was clear from the
moment we met him.
A very special memory that I have was while we were at the lake house,
everyone was in the kitchen talking and laughing. I remember looking over
at Max as he sat at the island talking to Tyler and Erin, there was a look on
Max’s face as he listened to them. He was just beaming with pride and
happiness while the kids answered his questions which ranged from their
jobs to the things they were cooking that evening. Such a twinkle in his
eyes as he completely enjoyed the answers they shared and just being in
the presence of his family!! That moment was pure joy to me! We are
grateful that we were able to be a part of some of the memories.
In knowing Max for these last several years, we are pretty sure he is now
enjoying a bowl of ice cream or a slice of pie, as well as a peaceful boat
ride on an amazing lake while watching over his beloved family.
We hope the knowledge of Max’s peace and all the wonderful memories of a life well lived be a blessing to all of you.
With love and hugs,
Jodi, John, and Megan
