Freddie William Grady Sr.'s Obituary
Freddie William Grady Sr., 90, of Mecosta, Michigan, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025. Born on January 28, 1935, to John and Mildred Grady in Flint, Michigan. Freddie lived a life full of adventure, hard work, and love for his family.
A dedicated assembler in the manufacturing industry in his earlier years, Freddie took pride in his work and spent much of his life providing for his loved ones. Later in life, he was able to combine his love of nature and the outdoors, working as a groundskeeper for St. Ives and Tullymoure golf courses. Beyond his career, he was a man of many passions. He found joy in nature and had a deep appreciation for animals, spent countless hours playing cards—especially euchre—and had a knack for puzzles. He enjoyed people-watching, and was never one to sit still for too long. Whether hunting and fishing, splitting wood, or admiring classic muscle cars with country music playing in the background, Freddie embraced an active and fulfilling life.
Above all, he cherished his family, especially his beloved wife and soul mate Donna, who brought him endless happiness and comfort. He leaves behind his loving children: Mary (Dave) Avery, Tina Parrish, Doris Grady, Keith (Bessie) Grady, and Kelly (partner Christopher Janwinski) Grady, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will continue to honor his memory.
Freddie is preceded in death by his beloved wife Madonna Grady, his parents, his two siblings Jack Grady and Norma Moore and his son Freddie Grady Jr. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date to share stories, laughter, and memories of a man who brought so much light and energy into the world.
Freddie’s spirit will live on in the lives of those who loved him, in the stories shared around the card table, and in the quiet beauty of nature he so dearly enjoyed.
