Emily Kathleen Bristol's Obituary
Emily Kathleen Bristol, age 34, of Lakeview, Michigan, passed away on January 1, 2026, at her home. Emily was born February 28, 1991, in Lakeview, daughter of Arthur Bristol Jr. and Rebecca Waite. She graduated from Lakeview High School and went on to become a dedicated medical assistant. Emily was known for her open heart, her passion for caring for others, and her vibrant, strong personality. She loved music, enjoyed camping and beach outings, and was always experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. Her greatest accomplishment was becoming a mother to her two precious children, and while she never married, Emily always considered their fathers family and loved them deeply. Emily’s legacy of being a faithful caregiver who never settled for less than what she considered to be the best will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Emily will be greatly missed by her children, Alexis Suminski and Ryily Finup, mother Rebecca Bjornstad, sister Elizabeth Bristol, brother Kain Bristol, and the father of her daughter Jon Suminski. She is also survived by her aunts Marie, Jamie, and Mindy Waite, cousin Andrea Crysler, her childhood best friend Jolene Hunt, beloved teacher, Mrs. Beach, and several other cousins and extended family members.
Emily was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Bristol Jr., and the father of her son, Mike Finup, as well as her grandparents, James and Kathleen Waite, and Arthur Bristol Sr.
A funeral service for Emily will be held on Friday, January 23rd, 2026, at Faith United Methodist Church in Edmore. The service will begin at 2 PM, with family greeting friends starting from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Care and arrangements have been entrusted to Janowicz Family Funeral Home- Lakeview.
