Dorothy Ruth Clark's Obituary
LAKEVIEW - Dorothy Ruth Clark, age 90, went home to be with the Lord on April 20, 2024. She was born September 15, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan to Richard and Emma Endres. She graduated from Pinckney High School in 1952 where she was a member of the girls basketball team and where she met the love of her life Robert L. ("Bob") Clark. They married on May 22, 1954, at Bethel Baptist Church in Hamburg Township and later raised three sons.In 1973 Bob and Dorothy bought a farm in Cato Township and moved the family to Lakeview where they became active members of Lakeview Baptist Church and opened their farm to host many church activities for the youth and other groups.From an early age Dorothy was a hard worker which carried on throughout her life. She worked on the farm, in the factory, waited tables, and later worked in the produce and garden center at Leppinks grocery store. She had a special talent and passion for growing flowers and other plants, vegetable gardening, canning, playing cards, and caring for the many animals on the farm. Her after-church Sunday dinners were enjoyed by many, and her kitchen table was always open to friend and neighbor.In their later years, Bob and Dorothy enjoyed camping, fishing in Canada, and winter months spent in Florida. Dorothy was also an avid deer and turkey hunter. Nothing excited her more than opening day of cross-bow and rifle seasons. She was a bright light to many and will be dearly missed.Dorothy is survived by her sons, Dan Clark (Liz Slater), Gary (Pat) Clark, and Jim (Tammy) Clark; grandchildren, Brandt (Adria) Clark, Brandi (Matt) Hubbard, Brece (Katie) Clark, Ryan (Mellissa) Clark, Alyssia (Lance) Blanzy, Tyler (Rachel) Collins, and Hannah (Jonathon) Whittum; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Paul (Dian) Endres, sister, Joan Silverthorn, sisters-in-law, Loretta Clark and Sally Endres, daughter-in-law, Bev Clark, and special hunting buddy Al Krause. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents, and brother, Don Endres.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview, with Pastor Zane Abberger officiating. Interment will follow at Cato Township Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Monday April 22, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral chapel and again on Tuesday from 10:00AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers the family asks that any contributions be made to Lakeview Baptist Church.
