Donald Lee Eastman's Obituary
Donald Lee “Duck” Eastman, 72, passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side on January 8, 2026. He was born on July 29, 1953, in Ferndale, Michigan, to Donald Eastman and Ruth (Holmes) Eastman.
Donald was a man who brought laughter wherever he went. Known affectionately as “Duck,” he was a natural jokester with a quick wit and a talent for comedic storytelling that could brighten even the hardest days. His sense of humor was matched only by his warm heart and deep love for family and friends.
Donald worked as a maintenance supervisor at Capital Commons, where he was known for his dedication, problem-solving skills, and friendly presence. On August 7, 1993, he married the love of his life, Diane, and together they shared more than three decades of love, partnership, and devotion.
In his free time, Donald found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved playing pool with his best friend, Bob Underhill, tending to his garden, and spending time outdoors. Music was one of his greatest passions, and he was an amazing vocalist whose voice brought joy to those lucky enough to hear him sing.
Donald is lovingly remembered by his wife, Diane Eastman; his son, Joshua (Sarah) Eastman; his daughters, Angela Averill and Teresa Averill; and his brothers, Dave (Janine) Eastman, Steve (Billie) Eastman, and Nick (Catherine) Eastman. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and happiness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Ruth Eastman; his beloved daughter, Chaelynn Perkins; and his dear best friend, Bob Underhill.
Though no services are scheduled at this time, Donald’s family encourages all who knew him to honor his memory by sharing a laugh, singing a song, or enjoying the beauty of the outdoors—just as Duck would have wanted.
