Del was a great colleague and friend for many decades. I truly enjoyed his company and insights, whether it was working on a university committee or playing poker. He always had the interests of his family, friends, students, and university guiding him. He brought a vibrancy to everything he did. I will miss him. Kevin Love

Working for Del in the Political Science Department was a great pleasure. He was one of the best boss’s I ever had. He was a caring man who would do anything to help in any way. A truly family man who he loved so much. He will be missed by many.

Del & I were not only high school friends but were also college roommates. His wife to be Barb was student teaching with me in Bridgeport before she met Del. My wife and I were married in May While Del & Barb were married in July. We laughed many times as his daughter Megan & our son Doug were both born on April 26. He will be missed by many and may he rest in peace and may God bless his family.
Dr. Ringquist helped me find my way in college and to decide on a political science major, which was one of the best decisions I ever made. He led our Model United Nations group and helped us all to understand so much more about this world. He loved teaching about Africa. What a great man and a great leader.
Del was a special friend with a heart of gold and saw the goodness in everyone and everything. He had a sweet heart and remarkable mind. He will be greatly missed by all tho knew him.

My husband, Mike and I worked with DEL and BARB for many years at CMU and consider them among our treasured friends. I am so sorry to hear of DEL‘s passing. He was a wonderful guy.
Del would always smile in good times and bad, keeping a glimmer of hope alive even in tough times. He will be sorely missed.
