I am grateful for the option of planting trees that helps the environment by naturally capturing and storing atmospheric carbon dioxide, mitigating global warming. Additionally, trees act as natural air filters by absorbing harmful pollutants, support local ecosystems by providing essential wildlife habitats, and prevent soil erosion while managing stormwater runoff to reduce flooding. Unfortunately we lose loved ones every day. This program of planting trees has afforded me the ability to grow my memory of those I have lost . My hope is the family members that I have planted trees for feel exactly like I do. I feel like I have started my own grove. I will continue planting as long as I can. I met Nae Dun for the first time in a meeting in Australia, in 1997. Nae was a great scientist and academic and his name was always recognized by the communities in the fields of pharmacology, physiology and neuroscience around. His very important scientific contributions to these fields will be remembered and cited forever. As important as his high scientific status, was his friendly personality. In our reciprocal scientific visits we were able to built a nice friendship and the warm hospitality that he provided to me during my 3 months stay in Johnson City,TN, in 1998, is unforgetable. Lusiane, my wife, and I also remember our last and enjoyable visit to Nae and Mary in California, in 2019. In the recent past, Nae and I were frequently in touch by whatsapp and we were always discussing new scientific ideas and projects. I will be always remembering his sharp and smart scientific questions and mainly his warm friendship for almost 30 years, which I will keep in the bottom of my heart.
