William J. Cassidy
Big Rapids –William J. Cassidy, 43,passed away unexpectedly Saturday, October 24, 2009 at his home in Evart. He was born April 19, 1966 in Big Rapids, the son of Oliver “Andy” and Bessie (Kelley) Cassidy.
Surviving are 13 brothers and sisters, Albert (Betty) Cassidy of Big Rapids, Harry (Carol) Cassidy of Manton/Lansing, Margaret (Steve) Tietsort of Ravenna,Alice DeHaan of Ludington, Martha (Frank) Boerma of Morley, Joan (Richard) Kile of Adrian, Richard (Kim) Cassidy of Chippewa Lake, John (Donie) Cassidy of Paris, Patrick Cassidy of Big Rapids, Mary Lane of Big Rapids, Steve Lane of Sears, Daniel (Cindy) Cassidy of Big Rapids, and Dale Cassidy of LeRoy.
Bill was preceeded in death by his parents, an infant sister, a brother Donald and two nephews, Ronnie Cassidy and Jonathan Boerma.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 28, at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids, with Pastor Ryan Beilfuss of the First Baptist Church of Evart officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery at a later date His family will greet friends on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Assoc. or to the charity of one’s choice.

My prayers are with you as you mourn the loss of Billy. I went to school with Billy in Big Rapids and remember him as a very nice young man. He stood up for what was right and did not let the other kids get him down when faced with conflict. I pray that time heals your sorrow and I will always remember him with a smile.
