Lowell Orr
Big Rapids – Lowell E. Orr, 69, of Big Rapids, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2009, at Spectrum Health Reed City.
He was born March 7, 1940, in Montrose, Colorado, the son of Ernest L. and Agnes M. (Lis) Orr. Following graduation from high school, Lowell attended and graduated from Arizona State University. He worked as an inspector in the aviation industry for many years.
On December 4, 1982, Lowell married Diane Thorne, and in 2001 they moved to Big Rapids. Diane preceded him in death on March 25, 2003.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Barbara (Alan) Jackson, stationed with the US Air Force, and Linda (Jerry) Orr of Phoenix, Arizona; 1 sister, Marilyn Orr of Colorado; 1 sister-in-law, Cathy (Glenn) Hersey of Big Rapids; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Private family services will be held for the family, with burial to follow in Pine Plains Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids, where you can share a memory or express condolences at www.mohnkefuneralhome.com.
