Patrick Charles “Pat” Smith

Big Rapids – Patrick Charles “ Pat” Smith, 44, of Shippenville, Pennsylvania, formerly of Stanwood and Croton Hardy, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2009, at his residence.
 
He was born May 16, 1964, in Muskegon, Michigan, the son of Charles J. Smith and Ardelle L. Gross, and graduated from the Newaygo High School in 1983.
 
After graduation, he became a semi truck driver and traveled most of the eastern U. S. until 2006 when he became disabled.
 
Pat is survived by his son, Elisha Sitzma of Newaygo; mother, Ardelle (Jack) Gross of Rogers Heights; father, Charles J. (Patty) Smith of Croton; brother, Jeff (Vicky) Smith of Fruitport; sister, Dawn M. Smith of Grand Rapids; grandmother, Gladys Harkins of Rogers Heights; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Pat was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Arthur Ulrich, Lester Harkins, Alton (Pat) Smith, John Bolton, and grandmother Erma Smith.
 
Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m., Friday January 30, 2009, at the Rogers Heights Christian Church in Rogers Heights, with Scott Davidson officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
